What Are The Basic Field Rules?

1) Approved Goggles will be worn at all times PERIOD, you may not remove at anytime you are on the game field regardless of games playing or not!!!!!

In the event of accidental goggle removal, you will immediately cover your eyes with your hands, look at the ground, and scream "Goggles Off!" until a ref finds your goggles and replaces them for you. You will NOT look for your goggles. PROTECT YOUR EYES!!! If you hear "Goggles Off!" you are to place your markers on the ground, stop firing and start yelling "Goggles Off!" and stay where you are.

2) Barrel Bags (a device designed to go over the barrel and catch unintentionally-fired paintballs) are mandatory at all times, only to be removed when instructed by a ref, and to be put on upon elimination or game over. If you own your own equipment, you must have its barrel bag on before you remove it from your vehicle! If you don't own one, you may purchase one for $5.00 from registration area.

3) Your marker will be in the bolt forward position or turned off, pointed at the ground and fingers off the trigger at all times unless playing in a game. And, of course, barrel bags ON!!!

4) You will be considered eliminated upon being marked by a paintball anywhere, including equipment, i.e.: gun, hopper, packs, bottles etc. Upon elimination you WILL KEEP YOUR GOGGLES ON and go to the instructed area with your hands over your head yelling HIT!

These are the primary safety rules of play at SWAT Paintball Park, these and other elements of the game will be explained game day. AS ALWAYS: SAFETY FIRST, FUN SECOND.

I'm new to paintball. What should I bring to the park?

1st Timers: What to bring/wear to the Paintball Field. Wear:
  • Loose fitting clothes, hunting camo's if you own; a sweat shirt and old jeans are fine. Dark colors are best.
  • Extra clothes to change into when you're done isn't a bad idea, as you're likely to get messy.
  • Cleats are great but anything with traction will do - you're not walking on a golf course, so some ankle support is a good idea over the rough terrain.
  • Younger players with small heads need to wear a ball cap (it helps hold their mask on).

Recommended to bring:

  • Snacks (candy bar, crackers, etc.)
  • Rag or old towel to wipe off the marks between games.
  • Last, but not least, bring a friend/family member you can trade battle stories with on the ride home!!

I've been at this a while, but am always forgetting something. How about a checklist?

Footwear: Cleats (obviously the best choice) Sandals or shoes (to change into afterwards)

Protective bodywear: Kneepads/Elbow Pads/Gloves (Must items) Neck protector/Body Armor (for younger players)

Pants: Baggy, all weather pants (i.e. Redz Dimensions) Extra pair to change into afterwards

Belt: Self Explanatory

Shirts: Undershirt (Long or short depending on weather) Jersey (good quality paintball jersey) Extra shirts (to change into afterwards

Headgear: Goggles (make sure they are in safe working order) Flares (as many as your head can carry) Beanies Hats

Marker: Your marker Barrels Air System Barrel Plug

Pack: Pack with pods (hopefully cleaned) Extra Pods (expect to get them horked)

Support Gear: Tools (anything to work on your marker/equipment) At least a 3 mm for you angel shooters 9 Volt batteries (hoppers and markers) Towels Toilet paper (to clean your goggles, etc.) Lens cleaner Squeegies (bring both types) Pod Swab Some sort of timekeeper...watch

Normal stuff: Dont forget to bring the normal stuff you usually bring with you when you leave your house.... Money, wallet, watch, cell, pager, sunglasses, etc.

Bag... Go buy a gearbag from Gerwin to keep all your stuff in and print out this list to keep in there. Last, but not least: hydration. Water, sports drinks, preferably both. On a hot day at the field, in typical paintball garb, you can easily become dehydrated. Soda and caffeinated drinks are not the answer, nor are really cold beverages. Hydrate before you become dehydrated.

SWAT is committed to a fun and safe experience at its field and events. All players are required to have signed waivers on file acknowledging they understand and agree to abide by the safety rules and regulations. It is necessary that all players print, complete, sign and submit both forms before participating in any game or event at SWAT.

One more question. Why is this site called Swat Paintball?

In the Long Ago Time, in the days of woodsball, the acronym S.W.A.T. was borrowed from law enforcement, and changed to stand for "Strategic Woodland Assault Tactics". Even after associating with Warped Sportz in the retail end of the sport, the moniker SWAT, Inc. has stuck.
