People used to actually post on the forum?

Players wanted to improve their game so they came and practiced?

People wanted to see what paintball was about and test the waters on the field and the forums?

Things were funnier and less serious?

Ahhhhh those were the days.

Serious people get of your asses, if you do not do something for yourself that you love , do not wonder what happened to it all once you decide to come back.
If you love the game, play the game

that sis funny S#$! And I can see that happening clearly

2010 you ask? well if its any worse than 2009 I hate to think about it. But I will hold out as long as I can and hopefully get to see some of the old coming back around and some new, for if we get no new we are done. The dinosaurs like myself cannot support the hobby it takes new blood, so Dinosaurs...GET your kids out to the field or introduce a new player to the sport, if not you may only tell friends what you used to do on the weekends and they will never know why you have a sparkle in your eye when you talk about it.

I say box in the xball field and use the remaining land the "L" that is the small airball field and hyberball field and make one big "L" shaped field for scenario/woodsball style play. Get more of the tippmann lovers out there. A junk field with all types of cover (fridges, pallets, old car lol, etc...) Appeal more to the outlaw ball players.

Yea, my 11 year old just started playin this year. I've been kinda out of it for the past few years, other than the occasional hired gun fill in. I'm gettin him into some rec ball so he can learn the motions. 'Course, he thinks he's ready to go straight to the pro X ball division, lol. Me and Dave and Ryan (from the old Krebs Kreeps and eventually Whiplash) are gonna play the charity tourney in Dothan in a few weeks. I know we're pretty excited to get back to shootin people!! Sheesh, it's been almost 10 years since I came to your old field out in the sticks, and carved "Dixie Reign" on the field the day we won our first WTS tourney..WOW!

I kinda equate paintball to the housing market over the past 5 years or so. People have always built new houses, but, over the past 5 or 6 years it got WAAAY out of hand. Being in construction, we all knew that party was gonna end because the money couldn't support it, and it did end, in a big ole crash. We used to plan our tourney paintball schedule based on 6 to 8 tourneys a year. That would be a series, like the WTS, and a few other tourneys, be it local or Mardi Gras. That made it where we could play and support our local field, and play our tourney schedule without breaking the bank. Then, along came other tourney formats (xball), other tourney series (cfoa, etc.), and the apparent need to have an extremely organized team that practiced every week and played every event within 500 miles so they could get "recognized" and "sponsored". That combination sucked a players time and money out of the local fields and into some random tournament series (Where the prize packages were a COMPLETE JOKE in comparison to what we used to get at a WTS event: Free Gerwin plug :}) . And without those local fields running, your right, we're all history. So, paintball blew up into something the economy couldn't support (just like housing) and got out of whack a bit. We still need the tourney competition rush, but, we have to realize how important it is to keep our local fields supported and get things back in balance.
